Welcome To Ukemi Audiobooks
Ukemi Audiobooks is a new digital label for the spoken word founded by Nicolas Soames. It has a broad purpose: to present recordings of fiction and non-fiction which are largely available for download.
It began in 2015 with premiere recordings of Seneca’s The Moral Epistles – an important account of his Stoic views – and C J Jung’s Memories, Dreams, Reflections the revealing autobiography of the Swiss psychologist, one of the most influential 20th century figures in his field. In addition, the varied writings of Friedrich Nietzsche is becoming a feature of the label.
2016 will see the catalogue increase considerably with its first fiction titles coming in the early summer, and more philosophy.
Nicolas Soames co-founded and ran the award-winning spoken word label Naxos AudioBooks. Over a period of 20 years he built a list of 800 recordings of classics of world literature – from Homer and Dante to Austen, Dickens, James Joyce and Proust.
